Christian Formation

In a way, everything we do at St Luke’s is Christian Formation. Our purpose is to equip and strengthen you to be part of God’s healing work in the world. We do not attempt to form you into our idea of what a “Christian” is. Together, as a community, we seek to follow in Jesus’s footsteps and believe that through our successes and failures, God is forming us to be who God created us to be.

St Luke’s is place to train to be a part of God’s work in the world. St Luke’s is a place to learn about the tradition and history of God’s work in the world. St Luke’s is a place to get comfortable with your questions so they don’t hold you hostage. St Luke’s is a place to be nourished so that you have the strength to share God’s love. St Luke’s is place to heal and rest so that you can help others have hope.

We don’t have Sunday School at St. Luke’s currently.

During the first half of the 10 am service, some of our youngest members meet for Children’s Church. They read and discuss a bible reading – often one of the ones we are talking about upstairs in big church – and they share prayer requests, prayers for help for anyone is sick or sad or lonely, traveling or trying something new AND they offer prayers of thanksgivings.

Children’s Church happens most Sundays during the school year.

Jesus said to him, ‘ “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’
-Matthew 22:37-40
